Oaxaca de Juárez, Oax., August 25, 2023.- The Fourth Ordinary General Assembly of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Economic Development A.C. (AMSDE) was celebrated on August 24, 2023, in Oaxaca, Oaxaca, México. Governor Salomón Jara Cruz welcomed AMSDE members and stressed that his administration promotes a comprehensive growth model that brings wealth and well-being to the Oaxacan population.

This meeting was held at the Government Palace in which representatives of the 32 states of the Mexican Republic participated, headed by the president of the AMSDE and Secretary of Sustainable Development of Querétaro Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, had the objective of sharing experiences with other institutions and business organizations to discuss building projects that can positively impact the economic growth of the country.

Secretary Del Prete said that the meeting is a space for collaboration, cooperation, and dialogue to promote sustainable growth, innovation, and the strengthening of the economy in the country.

Albert Zapanta, President and CEO of the U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, was invited as a special guest to this important gathering, in which the Chamber and AMSDE renewed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate for the promotion and development of binational economic activity and recognizing that trade and investment relations between Mexico and the United States are vital to promoting the economic development of both countries, which translates into benefits and a better quality of life for the population.

Zapanta also presented the current programs and initiatives of the Chamber and discussed collaboration opportunities with AMSDE. 

Additional guests for this meeting were Daniel Vargas, Director of Economic Census of Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography, and Alfredo Esparza, Vice President of Corporate Affairs and President of MetLife Foundation in Mexico.
