“FROM INDEPENDENCE TO INTERDEPENDENCE: NORTH AMERICAN TRADE AT U.S. 250TH ANNIVERSARY”
May 18-19, 2026
The Army and Navy Club
Washington, D.C.
About this event
As the review of the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) continues, this year’s conference will focus on the critical developments shaping the North American Economic Partnership. Discussions will examine both the vulnerabilities and opportunities within the trilateral relationship, highlighting the pivotal role that strategic sectors—including trade, manufacturing, and transportation—play in sustaining the region’s global competitiveness.
In addition, the conference will address key issues such as border dynamics, immigration, security, and illicit financial flows, exploring the complex interconnections between these challenges and the broader economic stability of North America.
Join us for a high-level dialogue on the evolution and continued strengthening of the trade relationship among the United States, Mexico, and Canada, as well as on the future of the world’s largest trading bloc. In the spirit of commemoration, we will also mark the 250th Anniversary of the United States, extend a formal salute to Canada on the occasion of Victoria Day, and recognize distinguished leaders from the public and private sectors whose vision and leadership have advanced trilateral cooperation and continental prosperity.
Good Neighbor Awards
Since 1985, the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce has honored distinguished leaders from the public and private sectors of both the United States and Mexico whose vision and dedication have strengthened mutually beneficial relations between our two nations.
Under the auspices of the Permanent Mission of Mexico to the Organization of American States, this year’s award will be presented at a black-tie gala at the Organization of American States Building—a venue that symbolizes hemispheric unity among its 34 member nations.
The U.S.–Mexico relationship remains a cornerstone of broader hemispheric cooperation. The Chamber proudly recognizes the individuals and organizations whose leadership continues to advance partnership, prosperity, and shared progress between our two countries.
We invite you to join us in celebrating those whose contributions have made a lasting impact on U.S.–Mexico relations.
Sponsorship opportunities are available.

The Decatur House
Completed in 1819, Decatur House has been used as a residence, rental property, a site of enslavement, boarding house, museum, office, and historic site. During its history as a private home, domestic staff members lived and worked in Decatur House as well as its adjacent service wing.
For several decades during the nineteenth century, it was a site of enslavement and courageous demands for freedom. After slavery was abolished, free African Americans and European immigrants were hired to work and reside onsite. The White House Historical Association and the National Trust for Historic Preservation are committed to telling the full story of Decatur House as a historic site.

Organization of American States
The Organization of American States is the world’s oldest regional organization, dating back to the First International Conference of American States, held in Washington, D.C., from October 1889 to April 1890. That meeting approved the establishment of the International Union of American Republics, and the stage was set for the weaving of a web of provisions and institutions that came to be known as the inter-American system, the oldest international institutional system.
