THE UNITED STATES-MEXICO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE RECIPIENTS OF THE PRESTIGIOUS “GOOD NEIGHBOR INSPIRATIONAL AWARD” TO BE PRESENTED DURING THE GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARDS GALA SCHEDULED FOR MAY 29, 2019 AT THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES HEADQUARTERS, IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
PUBLIC SECTOR AWARD LEADERSHIP

Hon. Peter Sessions, U.S. Congressman (1997-2019) – In recognition for the many years of service building relations between the U.S. and Mexico during his 22 years in the U.S. Congress, and with gratitude for opening the doors of the U.S. Capitol to Chamber Members on numerous occasions, facilitating the dialogue between the U.S. Congress and the binational business community.

Hon. Martín Orozco Sandoval, Governor of the State of Aguascalientes – In recognition for his extraordinary leadership in promoting investment in the State of Aguascalientes, which received record direct foreign investment in 2018, establishing Aguascalientes as one of the most pro-business entities in Mexico, and for the outstanding collaboration efforts with the U.S. Government under the Merida Initiative to strengthen the rule of law throughout Mexico.

PRIVATE SECTOR LEADERSHIP AWARD

Mr. Jayson Adair, CEO, Copart Inc. – In recognition to Copart’s innovative operations in the U.S, Mexico and worldwide, which has made the company a global leader
in online vehicle auctions, and also for the longstanding support to the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce mission to increase trade and investment between both countries.

Mr. Francisco J. López Espinoza, Owner and CEO, Multicolor Grupo Gráfico – In recognition to his extensive career in Mexico’s communication industry since 1966, which led him to found PROMEXE and Grupo Gráfico Multicolor, which publishes several leading business magazines, including Líder Empresarial, and Alliance Magazine, the official publication of the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce for 15 years.

BORDER LEADERSHIP AWARD

Hon. Dee Margo, Mayor of the City of El Paso, Texas – In recognition to his leadership and commitment to the people in North America, by addressing the challenges that migrant caravans of people from Central America have posed to the U.S.-Mexico border region with a humanitarian spirit, while at the same time advocating for the continuation of lawful cross-border daily operations, and maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with the City of Juarez, Chihuahua.

Hon. Armando Cabada Alvidrez, Mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua – In recognition for his extraordinary efforts to provide assistance to migrants from Central America in transit to apply for asylum in the U.S. and for the outstanding collaboration with the City of El Paso to foster economic development in the border region.

SPECIAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

Mr. Javier Vélez Bautista – Upon his retirement as CEO of Mission Foods, the Chamber recognizes his successful career and the relevant role that Mr. Velez performed in the growth of Mission Foods in the U.S., and for his vital support to the USMCOC as President of the Pacific Chapter in Los Angeles, and Monterrey Chapter in Nuevo León, which he led with tireless entrepreneurial spirit.

The Good Neighbor Awards Gala will take place on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the Organization of American States building, in Washington, D.C. This event is part of the USMCOC Annual Board Meeting and Conference, scheduled May 28-29, 2019.
