September 15, 2015 THE WOODLANDS, TX – “The Woodlands sparkled with all the glitz of an elegant Fiestas Patrias gala dinner and Viva Mexico! Awards on Saturday night hosted by The United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Houston-The Woodlands-Gulf Coast Chapter” said Julie Charros-Betancor, Chapter President. “We are so pleased to have such great corporate and individual support in bringing our business and community leaders from Mexico and the Houston metropolitan area who came together at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center to celebrate the Second Annual Fiestas Patrias Gala and Viva Mexico Awards. Mexicans from around the globe will be celebrating El Grito! Viva Mexico! Independence Day starting at midnight on Sept 15th”.
We honored several corporations and individuals for their hard work and passion to promote business and cultural relations between Mexico and our community. Viva Mexico! awards were granted to United Airlines, Houston Airport System, Mexico Tourism Board, Amiga Association, Uptown Real Estate Group, Houston EB5 and Karla Goudet and Adrain Garcia (for Mayor) for his contributions to Harris County said Pete C. Garcia Executive Director for the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce for Houston-The Woodlands-Gulf Coast.
“We are so excited about the participation of so many companies at this year’s gala with guests from as far as Guadalajara, Mexico and San Antonio and we were all able to share more about the importance of Fiestas Patrias Independence Day. The Consul General of Mexico honored us with El Grito!” said Julie Charros-Betancor.
This year the gala donated all silent auction proceeds to benefit Avance-Houston, a nonprofit organization that supports below poverty families with programs that focus on family education.
Fiestas Patrias 2015 underwriters included United Airlines and Mass Mutual.
