The USMCOC presents the 2021 Good Neighbor Awards in Washington, D.C.


October 20, 2021- Washington, D.C. – The United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the recipients of the prestigious “Good Neighbor Inspirational Award” presented during the Good Neighbor Awards Gala, which took place October 20, 2021, at The Decatur House, in Washington, D.C.

Private Sector Leadership Award

Patrick J. Ottensmeyer
President & CEO, Kansas City Southern
In recognition of his strong advocacy of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement; his voice and leadership were crucial during the negotiations and in the process of approval by the U.S. Congress, and on the occasion of the recently announced first rail networking connecting the U.S., Mexico, and Canada through the merger of KCS with Canadian Pacific Railway.

Juan R. Luciano

Public Sector Leadership Award

In recognition of his remarkable career in public service and his leadership in developing productive and collaborative relations with Mexican and Canadian counterparts, working diligently to solve differences, and joining forces to create and implement policies and sustainable agricultural practices in the North American Region.

Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development of Mexico
In recognition of his contributions in the development of agricultural biotechnology, his outstanding career in the public sector, and relentless work for the growth of Mexico’s agri-food industry, which is crucial in the U.S. and Mexico trade relationship

With the Good Neighbor Award, established in 1985, the Chamber recognizes private- and public-sector leaders who have contributed to strengthening U.S.-Mexico bilateral economic and societal relations.
