Presidential Electoral Observers Mission 2018

Mexico is preparing for its largest election in history, with 3,400 elected positions in play. All of  them relevant for Mexico’s democracy, but the presidential election is the one with major impact in the future of the country and the U.S. and Mexico relationship.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more on Mexico’s electoral process, and to be a first hand witness of this journey, the first one conducted by the National Electoral Institute (Instituto Nacional Electoral-INE) after the constitutional reform in 2014.

4th Mexico Presidential Election Observers Mission

The U.S.-Mexico Chamber of Commerce with the sponsorship of its sister organization, the U.S.-Mexico Cultural and Educational Foundation will conduct its 4th Mexico Presidential Observers Mission.

Mexico City, Puebla, Cuernavaca

The Chamber will observe vote at polling stations in three major cities in central Mexico: Mexico City; Puebla, Puebla; and Cuernavaca, Morelos.

June 29 – July 2, 2018

Elections will take place on Sunday July 1st. We will arrive to Mexico City on Friday June 29th, and return Monday July 2nd.

Requirements

Only Chamber Board Members and Chapter Members can participate in the USMCOC Electoral Observers Mission.

-Copy of Passport 9main page and pages with annotations if applicable)
-Recent and clear photo (size 1 inch by 1 inch)

The National Electoral Institute has a deadline to receive these documents. We will not be able to request your accreditation if we receive your documents after Friday June 8, 2018. 

Registration

The cost of participating in the 4th Mexico Presidential Observers Mission is USD $10,000. This will cover a three day stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City, meals, local transportation, and preparation and distribution of a report of the observers mission. 

Each participant is responsible for travel arrangements from the U.S. to Mexico City.
