GOOD NEIGHBOR AWARDS GALA 2016

May 25, 2016- Washington, D.C. – The United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce was pleased to announce the recipients of the “Good Neighbor Award” which were presented during the Good Neighbor Awards Gala May 25, 2016 at Organization of American States headquarters, in Washington, D.C.

This prestigious Award was presented to:

For the Public Sector:

Hon. Jeh C. Johnson, U.S. Secretary of the Homeland Security, for his leadership in fostering collaboration between the U.S. and Mexico, improving border security and facilitating lawful trade and travel.

Hon. Luis Videgaray Caso, Mexican Secretary of Finance and Public Credit, in recognition to his strategic role in the design and implementation of Mexico’s structural reforms in benefit of the country’s economic development, improving competitiveness in the North American region.

For the Private Sector:

Verizon Communications (US), in recognition for their commitment and exceptional support to the Hispanic community in the U.S. through a number of programs that encourage youth to pursue advanced education, and use their knowledge and creativity to improve their lives and of that their communities.
Emilio Gonzalez, Executive Director for Strategic Alliance, received the Award on behalf of Verizon

Softtek (Mexico), in acknowledgement of their leadership in IT Innovation in Mexico and the U.S., and for their invaluable support in strengthening the relationship between both countries by promoting synergies and strengthening the ties between the two countries in order to drive job creation and increase economic competitiveness in North America.
